Summary

A large drug discovery company is developing game changing medicines that are unreachable with traditional methods of drug discovery. They harness the power of AI and single-cell omics data to see disease biology others can't as part of their mission to re-write the rules of drug discovery

To power this work,company engaged with Tennex to create an automated solution to facilitate data sharing with third parties.  The solution uses AWS Transfer for SFTP as well as AWS Managed Microsoft Active Directory.

The Challenge 

This company maintains relationships with many external collaborators and frequently needs to share data with them.  These collaborators do not exist within this company's identity provider tenant as they are not employees nor contractors.  The company needs to grant them access to share data, and ensure that data is shared safely.

The Solution

Tennex proposed a solution comprised of Amazon S3, AWS Transfer for SFTP, and AWS Managed Microsoft Active Directory.  Users will be added to Active Directory, and can use those credentials to access the SFTP server.  From here, users can deposit data securely into the associated S3 bucket.   Thus, the company can facilitate data sharing with third parties and feel confident they are meeting their rigorous security requirements. this being done safely.
